Support Program for Women

Comments:

The organization is to assist and restore female victims of sex trafficking to a healthy mind, body and spirit. It will help its participants by providing protection, shelter, counseling, education, food, clothing, medical care, job placement and long-term residential referral support. The program will take place in Virginia.

 


Everyday Prayer Services

Comments:

This organization will hold every day, 5 times a day, traditional mosque services within the Muslim faith. The organization expects to have approximately 15 participants daily.The service will include encouraging Muslim messages by the members of the mosque. The services will be held in a rented facility in Georgia.

 


Support and Awareness Program

Comments:

This organization promotes the welfare of the elderly by raising awareness about elder abuse and neglect. It will educate and inform people about the issues of elder abuse through educational briefings, social media outreach, and other traditional methods of information dissemination. The organization will first focus its efforts in the state of South Carolina.


School Supplies for Needy

Comments:
Organization provides free school supplies to less-fortunate kids in the Houston, Texas area.   This program helps at least 300 students each year. Assistance is valued at approximately $15 per child.  Items such as pencils, paper, and backpacks are purchased from local stores and provided to under-privileged children located in local shelters, orphanages and homes.


Education on Culture & Society

Comments:

The organization provides educational information to the public regarding opportunities and how to get involved with the local Chinese community in the U.S.  These resources offered to the Chinese help them gain local US information faster and make their transition to the country smoother. The organization also shares advice with those US citizens who anticipate traveling to or developing business relations in China by helping them understand Chinese culture and traditions.  Program hosts free (2-3 hours) monthly seminars in the Austin, TX area.


Performing Arts Support

This program provides a means to explore creative dance in all genres for the local arts community in the Austin, TX area. Program brings dancers, choreographers, musicians, artists, and members of the community together in a process that can build ongoing collaborations. Participants are encouraged to display their creativeness through their freedom of expression.  On average 30-40 participants rehearse 2 days a week (for a few hours) for 6 months.  We hold two performance events each year (April & October) to share with the public and our supporters the accomplishments of our practices. 


Transitional Housing Program

Comments:

Program provides transitional housing for struggling females (abused women, recovering drug/alcohol addicts, etc.) and their children in the Hillsborough County, FL area. These individuals are in need of places to live, assistance with skill training, etc.  Our main service provides 5-10 women and their children, ages 5-22, with a place to stay, food and basic necessities, as well as transitional services including but not limited to counseling, life skills, computer skills and job search training.    The program is free of charge.  


Educational Support

Organization provides school supplies such as books and educational materials to less-fortunate kids in Kingston, Jamaica and also the Baltimore, MD area.   Educational materials are obtained in the US and shipped or transported to Jamaica.  Support in Baltimore, MD includes: books, tutoring services, and weekend college preparation classes.  The Program goal is to help at least 100 underprivileged students in each area per year. 


Youth Enrichment and Mentoring

This organization provides youth services to the Greater Atlanta, GA area. The kids meet once a week. The program primarily includes mentoring, sports and leadership skills for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18. During our mentoring sessions we emphasize the importance of education, remaining drug and alcohol free, and leadership.  We work with 25 to 30 kids. Our goal is to encourage kids to become active in sports and to be successful, resourceful members of society.


Charitable Community Events

The program includes charitable events as the goal to give back to the community.  The organization hosts free events bi-monthly for the improvement of the Liberty County, Texas Area. The events cover a wide range of various activities geared toward all residents. Some examples include: Trash Clean-up Day, Healthcare Screenings, School Supplies Drive, Toy Drive & Donation and Children’s Games Events.  This program furthers our exempt purpose by aiding the county and its people through community improvement projects and community involvement.


Community Radio

The organization provides culture and education for the local community via the internet radio station.  The radio station is active 24/7 and is run by local DJ’s that volunteer.  The station is dedicated to the local news and history of the Morongo Basin area in the High Desert region of Southern California.  Besides playing the music that is close to locals’ hearts, the primary goal to educate the community on local events, weather, history of the region and its first settlers, and other important news within the community.


Health and Fitness Education

This organization will help underprivileged individuals reduce obesity, educate them on the importance of eating healthy, and teach them on how to live a fruitful life. The organization will be offering various fitness programs to help individuals fight with obesity. The attendees, both kids and adults, will come from low-income areas of Northern Louisiana. Program will be open 5 days a week to all adults and children on a first come, first serve basis. Each week 50 participants attend the program.


Online Courses

The purpose of this program is to create an online environment where anyone can learn about the human mind and the way our thoughts can influence society.   Organization provides online classes dedicated to such subjects as: the evolution of human consciousness, individual values and their influence on society, and individual empowerment.  The Program objective is to give a tool for program participants to apply this information to their own lives and use it to make changes; for instance, empowering themselves to pursue their dreams.  Courses are free.


Equine Therapy

Comments:
This organization will provide rehabilitating equine therapy to individuals recovering from hardships in their lives. Housing will be provided for up to 6 individuals for up to 18 months at a time. During their stay, individuals will learn how to care for and train the horses on the ranch to encourage growth and enhancement of relationships, discipline, and character development. We will also offer resources to counseling and job training. Individuals will stay and participate free of charge.


Support for other charities

This organization will host charitable events to raise funds in support of charities that donate to cancer research and needy families in Northeast Ohio. The organization will hold horse shows with approximately 100 horses and trainers displaying their abilities. Organization plans to charge participation fees and donate any net revenue after expenses to approximately 5 charities per year. Amount donated to each charity will depend on funds available.


High School Scholarships

This organization will offer scholarships to student athletes looking to attend an institution of higher education. Students will have to complete a personal essay and show proof of community involvement to be considered for the scholarships. The organization expects to provide $1,500 to each of the 5 students receiving scholarships per year. The scholarships will be available to current High School students in DeKalb County, GA.


Community Outreach

The organization will provide financial assistance and basic needs items to low-income individuals in Houston, TX. The organization will provide on average $500-$1,000 for each family based on need to assist with medical bills, car notes, mortgage payments, etc. The organization will also provide donations and distribution of food, personal hygiene items, clothing, etc to needy individuals in the community.


Recovery Program

Comments:
This organization will offer rehabilitation services to juveniles and adults convicted of drug offenses. The program will be split into two groups by age, but both will focus on access to community resources such as counseling, job interview skills, resume building, etc. The program lasts 10 weeks and individuals must pay a program fee to offset costs. The organization will have volunteer experts and counselors to assist with running the program in Unicoi County, TN.


Cancer Research

Comments:

Based in the Madison County, NC area, this organization will conduct research of cancers including causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.  The research will include prevention and alternative treatment of all cancers, not just specific types.  The program is interested in finding: what causes different cancers; how prevention may be different for different types of cancer; detecting cancer in undiagnosed individuals; treatments that do not include drugs or chemotherapy.  The research is conducted by volunteering scientists. 


Transitional Housing

Comments:

Organization based in Cobb County, Georgia will provide transitional housing for struggling females (abused women, recovering drug/alcohol addicts, etc.) and their children. Between 4-6 women and their children live under a structured program designed to: aid in finding a job, budgeting money, and leading a disciplined life to become a productive member of society. Each woman is granted the opportunity to stay up to 12 months, on a first come, first serve basis.
